Description/Job Summary

Overview

This is a highly responsible mid- management position which manages the work of Placement Counselors and Placement Workers within the child protection system. A working knowledge of the Child Welfare Manual particularly rules regulating placement of children into licensed care situations is required. The Unit Manager will provide oversight to Placement staff including matching children to foster placements, and ensuring stability of those placements. Effective communication and relationship development with agency partners and placement resources such as group home managers, foster parents, licensing is important. Providing reporting data for the units is required. This position requires on-call duties and requires travel within/ outside assigned county.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, rehabilitation, or a related human services field. (a related human services field is one in which major course work includes the study of human behavior and development) with 1 year of related work experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four (4) years of experience
  • or High school/Diploma/G.E.D. and (6) years experience in child welfare, management, or supervision.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license from the state in which you reside, good driving record, and insurable under Lakeview Center’s policy.
