Responsibilities/Duties

Overview

The Outpatient Counselor I will provide therapeutic services to clients within the scope of training, protocols, and competence, and within requirements of statutes applicable to the position. Therapeutic services include but are not limited to assessment, treatment planning, direct service provision, person centered services and management of client risk and safety. Provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring services to clients and their families based on individualized treatment plans. Provide the following services to clients: screening for potential services; bio-psychosocial evaluations; limited functional assessments; treatment plan development; treatment plan reviews and group therapy.    

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, rehabilitation, or a related human services field (a related human services field is one in which major course work includes the study of human behavior and development) and one (1) year experience in direct service to individuals with substance abuse, mental health or co-occurring conditions
  • Must be able to provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families
  • Must be able to use a computer  
  • Must be able to pass a background check
