Description/Job Summary


The Medical Assistant will will work under the supervision of a physician to assist LCI psychiatrists, ARNPs, and support staff to provide treatment for clients in Children’s Psychiatry.  The Medical Assistant will take, monitor, and record vital signs, assist with prescription refills, and support the medical providers.   The Medical Assistant will establish a collaborative working relationship with the psychiatrists, ARNPs, and support staff to support a comprehensive system of care.  The Medical Assistant is responsible for but is not limited to: Establishing and maintaining a positive helping relationship with person receiving services at LCI.  Ensuring the safety of the person receiving services.  Implementing specific interventions according to the person’s treatment or service plan.  Monitoring and documenting the person’s progress.


  • Medical Assistant must be certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants or as a Registered Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologists.
  • Must have knowledge of and comply with state and federal statutes, rules and policies that effect the target population.
  • Must be able to provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families.
  • Must be able to use a computer.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
