Description/Job Summary

Primary duty is the performance of work requiring advanced knowledge in the field of social work or human behavioral studies, and to use such advanced knowledge and prior work experience to consistently exercise discretion and independent judgment in providing the most appropriate services and support to families (1) in the Dependency Court system who have been identified by the Court as needing professional services to prevent future abuse and/or neglect of children, and (2) who voluntarily request similar, but non-judicial, in-home services. Responsible for taking actions appropriate to ensure that every child has a permanent home that provides physical and emotional safety.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or a Master’s degree. The following  related degrees will be accepted: Counseling, Social Work, Human Services, Education, Human Sciences, Law, Behavioral Sciences, Human Development, Psychology, Social Policy, Sociology, Public Administration, Education, Community Development, Health Science, Political Science, Interdisciplinary Studies, Child and Society and Criminal Justice/Criminology. 
  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet software.
  •  Must possess a valid driver’s license from the state in which you reside, must have a good driving record and be    insurable under LCI’s policy. 
  •  Must receive passing score on the Introduction to Child Protection written assessment and field based assessment within one (1) year of employment.
