Description/Job Summary


The Adoption Recruitment Specialist will recruit and assess families as candidates to become adoptive parents through outreach, marketing and public relations methods and techniques. The position will serve as the primary point of contact for potential adoptive parents and will work with each prospective family as they begin the adoption process. The recruiter will work as a member of a team to promote adoption as an opportunity and to solidify the organization as a partner with the community in finding permanency for children in foster care.  The recruiter will communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and use data to inform practice. The position will work with a diverse population of individuals by using tact, diplomacy and flexibility and support adoption staff in connecting prospective families with waiting children. Working as a member of the recruitment team, develop and implement a recruitment/marketing plan for recruitment of adoption.  This may include visibility campaigns, web and print advertising, networking and community meetings, presentations, media outreach, website development and targeted recruitment for specific youth.  Identify, cultivate, engage, and maintain relationships with both internal audiences (to include adoption and permanency teams, current and prospective adoptive parents and marketing) as well as external audiences (to include community groups, faith partners, educational institutions, associations and other community entities) to ensure visibility for the agency's adoption program and promotion of support for adoptive parents and children.


  • • Must have Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Community Development, Public Relations or Social Services area.
    • Two years experience in community relations, marketing or social services. Master’s degree may substitute for years of experience.
    • Must be proficient with social media, word processing, data entry, and spreadsheets.
    • Must be able to communicate well orally and in writing. 
    • A valid Florida’s driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and accessibility to reliable transportation
    • Outstanding organizational skills are required.
