Description/Job Summary

Overview

The Foster Parent Liaison will provide education, information, support and training to prospective families and foster families licensed to foster children in District 1.  Responds to foster parent calls, requests, inquiries and concerns before, during and after children are placed in the home.  This includes finding needed resources and information, providing connections to other foster parents or community agencies, and solving a myriad of problems.  Works closely with Case Management Team Managers, Unit Managers and Family Services Counselors to facilitate communication and resolve problems between foster parents and Case Management staff.  This includes scheduling and participating in Conflict Resolution meetings.  Works with Case Management staff to help foster families understand and participate in Family Engagement activities with the biological families of the children in their home.  Works with foster parents to find solutions to problems with transportation, visitation and communication with the biological parents of the children in their home.

Qualifications
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent with 3-4 years experience working with children and families in child welfare.
  • Proficient with word processing, PowerPoint and spreadsheet software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
