This position is responsible for accurate submission, tracking and posting of all behavioral health facility provider claims. The employee must have the ability to use effective analytical skills to resolve problems as they arise. Maintain knowledge of insurance contracts, insurance regulations and billing requirements for all payers to ensure claims are processed correctly. The individual will work with our EMR business system to input, monitor and follow-up on the claims status and process appeals as required. The employee must be highly proficient and accurate in performing patient insurance verifications and determining which insurance is primary. This position will be responsible for managing the appeals process and working with the insurance companies for claim resolution. Continuously monitor all aged accounts. Any areas of concern should be elevated to the Behavioral Health Business Office Manager for assistance. They will assist in enhancing our billing process through continuing to research and identify new and existing billing codes and techniques. The position will work closely with finance, accounting and the insurance companies to identify best practices for billing so we reach the maximum reimbursement for Lakeview Center Inc.
Assignments/tasks are expected to be executed with considerable independence, must possess outstanding attention to detail and maintain compliance with established facility policies and procedures, contract requirements, organization bylaws, and federal and state regulations/laws.
Associate (AA) degree.
Three (3) years relevant medical office experience.
In lieu of degree a high school diploma or GED with five (5) years related experience may be substituted.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good organization skills with high level of accuracy.
Ability to solve issues and know when to request assistance.
Must maintain professional effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office 2010.
Thorough understanding of HIPAA guidelines and regulations in regards to confidentiality and Release of Information regarding medical records.
Practice proper telephone etiquette and provide excellent customer service.
