Description/Job Summary

Overview

The Family Support Worker will assist the Child Welfare Case Managers by providing basic social services to children and/or families in need including transportation for clients, clerical assistance, tracking information and assessment and education services. Assists counselors with data entry into Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN). Conducts interviews to collect general household data.Assesses data and assists families. Provides supervision and necessary care for children while in their care. Provides transportation to children and families. Provides education to families regarding nutrition, infant development and parenting skills. Ensures the Federal Funding Unit has current and accurate information for children in out-of-home cases.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • One (1) year experience in social, economic, health or rehabilitative setting, medical, nursing, child development or child care setting; OR
  • One (1) year of post high school in education social services, economic, health, rehabilitative, medical or child care services may be substituted for the year of experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside, good driving record, and insurable under Center's policy.
