Description/Job Summary


The Administrative Assistant must maintain knowledge of the population(s) served and awareness of the impact substance abuse and mental illness has on an individual and family. Maintain awareness of the importance of language used, and avoid stigmatizing language and conduct. Monitor, observe, and respond to clients as appropriate. Establish a helping relationship with the client and the client’s support system. Treat clients, their support persons and staff with respect and dignity. Use good communication skills including active listening, feedback and attending behaviors with clients, their support persons and other staff. Recognize and demonstrate appropriate boundaries in interactions with clients and the clients’ support persons. Assess for, and respond appropriately to, client risk situations/events. Communicate with others regarding client risk situations. Seek supervision and consultation on issues presented as needed. Maintain documentation and productivity to agency and program standards. Complete documentation in an accurate, clear, legible and timely manner to agency standards. Meet assigned deadlines. Maintain productivity set by program/organization. Participate in program/division/agency best practice sustainability process. Adhere to LCI standards of performance at all times. Comply with LCI safety policies/procedures. On time for work each day and on task during the work day. Must accurately record all hours worked. Positively represent Lakeview Center, Inc. in all job duties.


  • High school diploma (or GED equivalent).
  • One (1) year experience in office coordination, incentive tracking, appointment scheduling and management of office flow.
  • One (1) year experience in HIV/STD/Hepatitis or other health-related prevention area preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work within the guidelines established in the policies and procedures of the agency and assigned program division.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff.
  • Ability to effectively relate to a variety of individuals, including persons living with a mental illness and/or substance use disorder, persons with developmental disabilities, family members of persons served, and co-workers.
  • Ability to problem solve and advocate for persons served.
  • Ability to assist in maintaining a therapeutic and safe environment.
  • Will be required to complete in-service.
  • Must be able to pass background check. Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be insurable under LCI’s automobile plan.
  • Must be able to travel locally to clients’ homes, training locations and other locations as necessary.
  • These responsibilities do not reflect all duties the incumbent will be required to perform. This description serves as an overview only. Salary range is $11.162 - $12.067 per hour, salary is based on years of experience.
