Description/Job Summary


The position requires knowledge in the field of child welfare and the ability to use that knowledge and prior work experience to lower the level of trauma children experience during entry into the child welfare system.  As a key member of the CARES Team the Support Worker’s primary duty is to help bridge the gap between removal and transfer to FamiliesFirst Network case management units.  The services provided by the Support Worker will act as a glide path for entry into the child welfare system by empowering and supporting caregivers to meet the needs of foster children placed in their care.  Support Workers will assist Case Mangers by performing all assigned tasks with a special emphasis on establishing a positive relationship between biological and foster parents, assuring pertinent documents are complied, and by connecting foster parents with day care providers..


  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. 
  • One (1) year of experience in social, economic, health, or rehabilitative setting, medical, nursing, child development, or child care setting.
  • Must have knowledge of available resources in the service area for children. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Basic math and computer skills.  
  • Must have knowledge of available resources in the service area for children.  
  • Must possess valid driver’s license from the state in which you reside, good driving record, and insurable under LCI’s policy.
