Description/Job Summary

Overview

The position requires advanced knowledge in the field of child welfare and the ability to use that knowledge and prior work experience to lower the level of trauma children experience during entry into the child welfare system.  Case Managers must possess, or acquire upon hiring, Certification as a Child Protection Professional.  As a key member of the CARES Team the Case Manager‘s primary duty is to help bridge the gap between removal and transfer to FamiliesFirst Network case management units.  The services provided by the Case Manager will act as a glide path for entry into the child welfare system by empowering and supporting caregivers to meet the needs of foster children placed in their care.     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work or human behavioral studies ( Human behavioral studies include the following: Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, Sociology, Child and/or Family Development (Human Development), Family Studies, Education, Law, Behavioral Science, Social Policy, Sociology, and Criminal Justice/Criminology.) or may substitute five years of experience in a placement team unit.
  • Must have knowledge of available resources in the service area for children.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to use a computer.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license from the state in which you reside, good driving record, and insurable under LCI’s policy.
