Description/Job Summary

Overview

The Outpatient Counselor II will provide the following services to clients: in-depth assessments, screening for potential services, bio-psychosocial evaluations, limited functional assessments, treatment plan development, treatment plan reviews.individual and family therapy, group therapy, therapeutic behavioral health on-site services for children and adolescents, specialized therapeutic foster care services. To exercise discretion and independent judgment, while utilizing advanced knowledge in the field of human services, to perform the following functions: Interview, gather and interpret clinical data on assigned clients and then analyze data considering the client’s age, developmental level, treatment readiness, stage of change, gender, and cultural background and complete a thorough interpretive summary of client’s current state of being with individuals/families, Coordinate treatment plans with interdisciplinary team, Monitor and document progress of the client in relation to treatment goals and objective, Maintain documentation and productivity to agency and program standards, Complete documentation in an accurate, legible and timely manner and to agency standards, Meet assigned deadlines, Complete FARS/CFARS/SISAR/Outcomes in an accurate and timely manner, Maintain productivity set by program/organization, Utilize available data reports to aid practice, Participate in program/division/agency best practice sustainability process. Adhere to LCI Mission, Vision and Values at all times. Comply with LCI safety policies/procedures. Positively represent Lakeview Center, Inc. in all job duties and communications with others. Participate in program/division/agency best practice sustainability process. Review crime victim compensation option with clients. Act as an advocate on behalf of victims of crime. Provide outreach and system coordination. Serve as primary PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) counselor.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, rehabilitation, or a related human services field (a related human services field is one in which major course work includes the study of human behavior and development)
  • At least (2) two year(s) experience working with adolescents and adults who have mental health, substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities
  • Must be able to provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families
  • Must be able to use a computer
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must have a valid Florida Driver’s license
  • Must be insurable under LCI’s automobile plan
  • Must be able to travel locally to clients’ homes, training locations and other locations as necessary
