Description/Job Summary


The Teacher will be responsible to implement GED/ABE (Adult Basic Education) program servicing West Florida Community Care Center (WFCCC) residents. This position will be responsible for service provision and oversight of educational program components. 


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. One (1) year experience working with adults who have mental health, substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities. 
  • Must be able to provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families. 
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate. 
  • Documentation of education and successful occupational experience including documentation of
  • Completion of 6 years of full-time successful occupational experience or the equivalent of part-time experience in the teaching specialization area. The district school board may establish alternative qualifications for teachers with an industry certification in the career area in which they teach. 
  • Completion of career education training conducted through the local school district in-service master plan. 
  • Documentation of industry certification.
